Kodaira (kōdī`rä), city (1990 pop. 164,013), Tokyo Metropolis, central Honshu, Japan. It is a suburb of Tokyo, producing automobile tires and electrical machinery.
Kodaira 

a city in Japan, in the central part of Honshu Island, in Tokyo Prefecture. Population, 137,400 (1970). It is part of the Tokyo conurbation; railroad junction. It has machine-building and tire factories. There also is food and condiment industry.
