Kokinos, Dionysius
Born Dec. 28, 1884 (or Jan. 9, 1885), in Pirgos in the Peloponnesus; died 1967 in Athens. Greek historian, journalist, and writer. Member of the Athens Academy (1950). Specialist in modern Greek history. Kokinos wrote the most complete study in bourgeois historiography of the Greek national liberation revolution of 1821–29, the 12-volume study The Greek Revolution. He wrote from an idealist position. Kokinos also wrote novels (including A Secret Nest, 1922), collections of stories (A Shot in Blue Water, 1945), and other works of fiction.
