Koliadka
a ceremonial song among the peoples of Eastern Europe, particularly the Slavs. The koliadka was sung on the eve of the Christian holiday of Christmas. The song expressed wishes for wealth, good health, and good harvest. Koliadka melodies were usually based on the frequent repetition of a short tune. REFERENCESVeselovskii, A.
