Komodo

Komodo 

an island in the Lesser Sundas, between the islands of Flores and Sumbawa. Area, 494 sq km. Komodo belongs to Indonesia. Hills and low mountains (elevations to 735 m) predominate, covered by grass and shrub. The Komodo dragon is one of the most well known of the the island’s animals. There is fishing and copra production.

Byline: ANI Washington, September 30 (ANI): A team of palaeontologists and archaeologists, who studied fossil evidence from Australia, Timor, Flores, Java and India, has shown that Komodo Dragons most likely evolved in Australia around 3-4 million years ago and dispersed westward to Indonesia.
If you're looking for a new pet, don't even think about a Komodo dragon.
Smith said Indonesian officials had found the boat following a tip-off from Australian police that it sank late Tuesday off Komodo island, a nature reserve for Komodo dragon reptiles.
