Koretskii, Viktor Borisovich

Born May 5 (18), 1909, in Kiev. Soviet graphic and poster artist. Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1964).

From 1922 to 1929, Koretskii studied at the Moscow Secondary School of Fine Arts. In his works he combines photographs of nature with pencil and gouache drawings. His works include the posters Greetings to the Great Union of SSR! (1937), Warrior of the Red Army, Save Us! (1942), Peace Will Be Victorious! (1950), The Immortality of LeninIn Our Achievements (1964), and Be Damned! (1965). Koretskii received the State Prize of the USSR in 1946 and 1949.
