Korolev, Nikolai

Korolev, Nikolai Fedorovich 

Born Mar. 14, 1917, in Moscow. Soviet boxer, Honored Master of Sport (1942), and trainer. Became a member of the CPSU in 1950.

Korolev was heavyweight champion of the USSR nine times between 1936 and 1953 and overall champion of the USSR in 1936-37 and 1944-45. He was also a victor at the World Workers’ Olympiad in Antwerp in 1937 and at international tournaments in Helsinki and Prague (1946). In the Great Patriotic War he served in the partisan detachment of Hero of the Soviet Union D. N. Medvedev. He has been awarded two orders and also medals.
