Kortuz

a mountain range in the eastern part of the Minusinsk Basin, Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR. Length, approximately 40 km; average elevation, 800-1,000 m; maximum elevation at Mount Kortuz, 1,186 m. The Kortuz Range is made up of metamorphic limestones, schists, and sandstones, interrupted by granite intrusions. Steppes predominate on the steep slope; the northern, more gentle slope, is covered primarily with foreststeppe landscapes.
