Koshliakov, Nikolai Sergeevich

Born July 11 (23), 1891, in St. Petersburg; died Sept. 23, 1958, in Moscow. Soviet mathematician. Corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1933).

Koshliakov graduated from the University of St. Petersburg in 1914. From 1918 to 1925 he worked at the University of the Crimea. From 1925 to 1942 he was a professor at Leningrad University, and from 1926 to 1942 at the Leningrad Electrotechnological Institute. He was a member of the London Mathematical Society (1936). His principal works were on the theory of higher transcendental functions and on differential equations of mathematical physics.
