Born May 29, 1879, in Ohrid; died Jan. 20, 1898, in Sabac. Serbian poet, forefather of Serbian proletarian poetry. Abrašević dedicated his poems to the life of workers. Such poems as The Worker Labors (1893), The Red One (1894), The Thief (1896), In the Mine (1897), and Blow Wind (1897) are imbued with the concepts of revolutionary struggle.
