Krinsky, Carol (Herselle) (1937– ) architectural historian; born in New York City. She studied at Smith College (B.A. 1957) and at New York University (M.A. 1960, Ph.D. 1965), where she taught from 1965. Initially specializing in the Renaissance, her interest broadened to the modern period and she became a leading expert on twentieth-century architecture. Her books include Rockefeller Center (1978), Synagogues of Europe (1985), and Gordon Bunshaft of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (1988).
