Krylov, Sergei Borisovich 

Born Jan. 1 (13), 1888, in St. Petersburg; died Nov. 24, 1958, in Moscow. Soviet scholar of international law, diplomat, doctor of law (1930), professor (1938). Became a member of the CPSU in 1946.

Krylov taught from 1918 to 1958, being a professor at Leningrad State University, the Higher Diplomatic School, the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU, and other institutions. He studied and wrote on the history of the creation of the United Nations, the law of the air, and international private and public law. A member of the International Court of Justice of the UN from the USSR from 1946 to 1952, Krylov participated in various international conferences, including the Dumbarton Oaks and San Francisco conferences on drawing up the UN Charter. He was awarded three orders and various medals.
