Kukaniloko Birthstones State Monument Location: At the intersection of Kamehameha Highway (Highway 99) and Whitmore Avenue on the north side of Wahiawa. Facilities: Cultural site, exhibits. Special Features: This site is a place where royalty came for the birth of their children and is considered one of the most important cultural sites on Oahu. The birthsite consisted of two rows of 18 stones (representing Oahu's 36 chiefs) and a stone backrest where the chieftess would give birth. Today, the area is covered with 180 stones over an area of about a half acre.
