Kula, Witold 

Born Apr. 18, 1916, in Warsaw. Polish economist and historian.

Kula graduated from the University of Warsaw, where he has been a professor since 1950. He has written on the socioeconomic history of Poland, particularly of the feudal and early capitalist periods, and he has also dealt with methodological problems. He helped initiate the series Studies on the History of Industry and the Working Class in Poland. Kula also edited the second volume of the History of Poland (1958–59).
