Kurgan-Tiube
a city in the Tadzhik SSR. It lies in the Vakhsh Valley, 100 km south of Dushanbe, with which it is linked by a railroad and highways. Population 40,000 (1972). Industrial enterprises include a transformer plant, mechanical repair works, cotton-ginning plant, oil extraction plant, cannery, dairy, brewery, meat combine, and clothing and haberdashery factories.
