Kushva 

a city (since 1926) in Sverdlovsk Oblast, RSFSR, located on the eastern slope of the Central Urals, near Mount Blagodat’. A railroad station on the Sverdlovsk-Serov line, 200 km northwest of Sverdlovsk. Population, 44,000 (1970). The city developed in 1735 with the discovery of an iron-ore deposit on Mount Blagodat’ and the construction of a metallurgical works. Iron ore is mined in Kushva. It has a metallurgical works, a woodworking-machines plant, and logging enterprises.
