Qutb
Years of birth and death unknown. Poet of the Golden Horde. Qutb lived and wrote at the court of Khan Tini-Bek. He was the author of the narrative poem Husrav and Shirin (1340), a Turkic reworking of a poem of the same name by Nizami. One copy of the poem dated 1383–84 is in the National Library in Paris. Qutb’s poem is the first secular work in the western part of the Mongol Empire.
