The association suggested a better term would be "Slobovian loss," named after the fictional kingdom of Lower Slobovia featured in the classic L'il Abner comic strip drawn by Al Capp. Al Capp, the L'il Abner comic strip creator, parodied this event, creating a blustering, overbearing character called General Bullmoose who proclaimed, "What's good for General Bullmoose is good for the country My inexperience may have kept me hidden from Bob Fosse, but it didn't get in the way of my being cast by Michael Kidd the following year for the Broadway musical L'il Abner. |
