Columbia's record results were achieved running the LINPACK benchmark on 8,192 of the NASA supercomputer's 10,240 processors.
Demonstrations include record-breaking LINPACK performance per Watt that scales from desktops to TeraFLOPS; acceleration for scientific applications with Wolfram Research's Mathematica[R]; acceleration for financial algorithms using Monte Carlo simulation; and ClearSpeed's software development environment.
org), published twice a year prior to the Supercomputing Conference held this week in Tampa, Florida, and the International Supercomputer Conference held in June, ranks supercomputers worldwide according to their performance on the LINPACK benchmark.
