Established: 1970. Location: 50 km north of the Saint Lawrence River, approximately 200 km from Montréal, 190 km from Québec City, and 60 km from Trois Rivieres. A good portion of the park is situated in the heart of the Laurentian Mountains. Facilities: 2 lodges (Andrew and Wabenaki), visitor center, 580+ campsites, trails (80 km, @di), canoe and boat rental, boat ramps. Activities: Hiking, camping (year-round), swimming, canoeing, fishing, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, wildlife viewing, interpretive programs. Special Features: Park typifies the region of the Lauretians, a range of low mountains bordering the Saint Lawrence River along its entire course from the Great Lakes to Labrador. It includes a section of the Laurentian Trail and more than 150 lakes, including the 16-km-long Wapizagonke Lake. The diverse wildlife includes 50 species of mammals, 180 species of birds, 29 species of fish, and 19 species of reptiles and amphibians. See other parks in Quebec.
