Canadian Broadcasting Corporation 

(CBC), the Canadian radio broadcasting corporation; established in1936. The CBC is financed by the government as well as by income from advertising. As of 1973, it united more than 300television stations and 360 radio stations. The principal centers of the CBC are Montreal (domestic broadcasts in French and broadcasting to other countries) and Toronto (domestic broad-casts in English).
