Hodgkiss of Scripps, Tuneay Akal of the NATO SACLANT Undersea Research Center in La Spezia, Italy, and their colleagues have conducted various tests in the Mediterranean Sea using transducer arrays some 80 meters long. Mazzi's main inspiration comes from his northwestern Italian birthplace, La Spezia, and from what he learned at La Strega Culinary Academy near Lake Como and later from local chefs Celestino Drago and Tommaso Barletta. The initial trials will take place in La Spezia, a coastal city in north-western Italy. |
