Lahu
a people living in southern China, in the province of Yünnan, as well as in the northern regions of Thailand and Burma. Total population, 200,000 (1967, estimate). The language of the Lahu is related to the Lo (Yi) languages of the Tibeto-Burman group. The majority of Lahu people maintain their ancient animistic beliefs; a small number are Christians.
