Ladyfinger

Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus, Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
Ladyfinger

a Middle Asian variety of table grapes with a medium ripening period. The large clusters weigh as much as 300 g; they are narrowly conical, long, branched, and loose. The stalk of the inflorescence (and its axis and branches) is very fragile. The grape is beautiful: it is large, long, cylindrical, elongate, and light green (subsequently turning yellow). The slightly crisp flesh is distinguished for a balance of sweetness and tartness. The yield is 36–42 tons per hectare. The grape transports well; it is used in fresh or dried form.
