Lake Bruin State Park Location: East of US 65 near Saint Joseph in Tensas Parish, on the eastern border of Louisiana. Facilities: 12 premium campsites (5 pull-through campsites, 12 prime location campsites, all with water and electrical hookup), 13 improved campsites, 2 primitive campsites, group camping area, comfort stations, picnic area, covered pavilion, playgrounds, restrooms, swimming beach, bathhouse, boat launch, boat rentals, 3 fishing piers (é). Activities: Camping, boating, fishing, swimming. Special Features: Park features a clear oxbow lake (once part of the Mississippi River) with ancient cypress trees along the shoreline. The site was originally established as a fish hatchery in 1928.
