Lake Hope State Park

Location: 20 miles west of Athens in the southeast corner of the state.
Facilities: 219 campsites (46 with electricity), 3 rent-a-camp units, camper cabins, youth group camp, 2 primitive campsites, group camp, 66 cottages, showers, picnic areas, picnic shelters, hiking trails (17 miles), bike trails (14 miles), restaurant, swimming beach, food concession, boat ramp, boat rentals, nature center, game courts, playgrounds.
Activities: Camping, boating (electric motors only), canoeing, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, nature programs, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledding.
Special Features: Park lies entirely within the 26,824-acre Zaleski State Forest in the valley of Big Sandy Run. The yellow lady's slipper, one of the rarest and most showy orchids, blooms in secluded hollows of the park.
