Location: 12 miles south of Sebring off US 27.
Facilities: Hiking trails, picnic tables. There is no drinking water at the park.
Activities: Hiking, wildlife viewing, fishing.
Special Features: Park protects one of the state's most endangered natural communities, sand scrub (sometimes called Florida's desert). Some of Florida's rarest plants and animals are found in the scrub, including the Florida scrub-jay, Florida scrub lizard, Florida mouse, deer, gopher tortoise, and bobcat. This park is relatively new and is still being developed; it's best suited to those seeking a remote wilderness experience and nature study.
