Kizi

(also Bol’shoe Kizi), a lake in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR, in the floodlands on the right bank of the lower course of the Amur River. Lake Kizi is linked by channel with the Amur. A rather low and narrow strip of land (elevation, 55 m; width, 8.5 km) separates the lake on the east from Tatar Strait. The area of the lake at its average level is 280 sq km; the area changes with variations of the level. Lake Kizi measures 3–4 m deep and is divided into three parts—Ai Bay, the Lower Kizi, and the Upper Kizi. There is much fishing on the lake.
