Lake Lurleen State Park Location: 12 miles northwest of Tuscaloosa in west central Alabama. Facilities: 91 modern campsites, comfort stations, picnic area, group pavilions, an activity building, beach with bathhouse, fishing piers, boat rentals and boat-launch areas, trails (10 miles, including 7 miles of a new multi-use single-track trail open only for foot and mountain bike traffic), playground, camp store, snack bar, playground. Activities: Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking. Special Features: The park and its 250-acre lake were named for Alabama's only female governor, Lurleen B. Wallace.
