Lake Mineral Wells State Park & Trailway Location: 4 miles east of Mineral Wells on US 180. Facilities: Campsites with water and electricity hookups, tent camping, horsemen's camp, primitive campsites, showers, restrooms (é), day-use group facility, picnic areas, screened shelters, hiking trails, nature trails, bike trail, bridle trail, beach, boat ramp, boat rentals, fishing piers (é), playground, park store, amphitheater. Activities: Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing. Special Features: Park is located along Rock Creek, a large tributary of the Brazos River, and encompasses its namesake 646-acre lake. Lake Mineral Wells Trailway is a converted railroad track that begins northwest of Weatherford and travels 20 miles westward to the downtown district of Mineral Wells. It passes over 16 bridges, including the trailway's 500-foot signature bridge adorned with 104 Lone Stars.
