Lake Nettie National Wildlife Refuge Address: c/o Audubon NWR 3275 11th St NW Coleharbor, ND 58531 Phone: 701-442-5474; Fax: 701-442-5546; Established: 1939. Location: West-central North Dakota, about 10 miles northwest of the community of Turtle Lake. Facilities: Undeveloped. Activities: Deer hunting, wildlife observation, education programs. Special Features: In the mid-1980s, eighteen islands were constructed in Mud Lake by Ducks Unlimited to provide protected nesting sites for water birds. Habitats: 1,285 acres of wetland and 400-acre Lake Nettie. Access: Open year round to walk-ins. Wild life: Nesting and migratory waterfowl. See other parks in North Dakota.
