Lamoricière, Christophe Léon Louis Juchault de(krēstôf` lāôN` lwē zhüshō` də lämôrēsyĕr`), 1806–65, French general. Important in the conquest of Algeria, he distinguished himself at the head of his celebrated Zouaves and received (1847) the submission of Abd al-KaderAbd al-Kader
