Large Gray Geese 

a breed of geese developed in the years 1942–50 in Borki Sovkhoz, Kharkov Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, and Arzhenka Sovkhoz, Tambov Oblast, RSFSR, by crossbreeding Toulouse and Romny geese. The bird is large, with a broad, deep body. The plumage is gray, with white on the abdomen. Ganders weigh 8 kg; geese, 6 kg. The young weigh about 5.5 kg at four months. The egg yield is 40–60 eggs a year. The breed is raised in many regions of the RSFSR and the Ukrainian SSR.
