the scholarly sociopolitical journal of the Institute of Latin America of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, published once every two months in Moscow since 1969.

Latinskaia Amerika prints scholarly research on the economy, politics, ideology, history, culture, and ethnography of the countries of Latin America, as well as materials on the economic, political, and cultural relations of the USSR with these countries. The journal also contains travel essays, reviews, poems, and illustrations. Also published since 1974 is a Spanish version of Latinskaia Amerika (América Latina) that appears once every three months. The circulation in 1975 was 7,000 in Russian and 26,000 in Spanish. [14–622–1; updated]
