latite

 or trachyandesite

Type of igneous rock that is abundant in western North America. Usually white, yellowish, pinkish, or gray, it is the volcanic equivalent of monzonite. Latites contain plagioclase feldspar (andesine or oligoclase) as large, single crystals (phenocrysts) in a fine-grained matrix of orthoclase feldspar and augite.

A not visibly crystalline rock of volcanic origin composed chiefly of sodic plagioclase and alkali feldspar with subordinate quantities of dark-colored minerals in a finely crystalline to glassy groundmass.

A series of mineralized quartz latite dikes that has intruded the basal andesitic volcanic units is known to host silver mineralization over a wide zone that extends into the Montecristo III concession.
Two latite dikes of unknown size may have locally displaced mineralization along the structure.
Alteration on the Hills Property is located within the magnetic low and consists of sericite-altered, rhyolite to latite tuffs and flows that have been cut by calcite veins and stockworks.
