The 1950s sitcom Leave It to Beaver depicted an idealized "traditional" norm of the American style of family interaction with a rigid approach to child-rearing.
I mean, watching Leave It To Beaver reruns did not exactly give me a picture—or even the Brady Bunch
The opera's flaw is that Rossini wrapped his characters in such an appealing confection of musical sugar and spice that we might as well be watching an episode of Leave it to Beaver.
