Lederer, Jerome

Lederer, Jerome (1902–  ) aerospace engineer; born in New York City. From 1929 until 1940 he was an aeronautical engineer; he then became director of the safety bureau of the Civil Aeronautics Board. Following 1947 he worked as director of safety for several organizations including the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, retiring in 1972. He wrote numerous books and articles on aviation and space safety.
