Lee, Ang (äng), 1954–, Taiwanese filmmaker. Lee is one of the few directors who have achieved commercial and critical success in Asia and the United States, and is also unusual in the wide range of genres and themes he has explored. His first three films, Pushing Hands (1992), The Wedding Banquet (1993), and Eat Drink Man Woman (1994), all in Chinese with screenplays by Lee, are deft domestic comedies that revolve around generational and cultural differences.
