Lee, Doris (b. Embrick) (1905–86) painter; born in Aledo, Ill. She studied with Ernest Lawson at the Kansas City Art Institute (1928–29), and studied in Paris (1930). She began her work as an abstract painter, but after settling in Woodstock, N.Y., she focused on whimsical American narrative scenes, such as Thanksgiving (1936).

Byline: bev bevan THE SHIRELLES Tonight's The Night/Sing To Trumpets And Strings (Ace) THE Shirelles, an all-girl vocal quartet from Passaic, New Jersey, consisted of lead singer Shirley Owens, Beverly Lee, Doris Kenner and Addie "Micki" Harris.
By 2000 she had joined touring show That'll be the Day and discovered a natural ability to adapt to the work of Tina Turner, Debbie Harry, Shirley Bassey, Sandie Shaw, Brenda Lee, Doris Day and Dusty.
THE SHIRELLES Best Of (Ace) SHIRLEY Owens, Beverley Lee, Doris Kenner and Addie Harris from New Jersey formed a group called the Poquellos at junior high school but by 1958 they'd changed their name to The Shirelles.
