Lee, Ming Cho

Lee, Ming Cho (1930–  ) set designer, water colorist; born in Shanghai, China. After his youth in Shanghai and Hong Kong, he attended Occidental College in Los Angeles. He served a five-year apprenticeship with Jo Mielziner, and beginning in 1958 went on to make a name for himself with his imaginative sets for scores of productions on and off Broadway, opera, and dance; for many years he was the principal designer for the New York Shakespeare Festival. He also designed the interiors of theaters and displayed his water colors.
