In east-central KY, southeast of Lexington; organized Jan 29, 1870 from Owsley, Breathitt, Estill, and Wolfe counties. Name Origin: Traditionally for Robert E. Lee (1807-70), American general and commander-in-chief of the Confederate forces during the Civil War. Others claim it was named for Lee County, VA, former home of many early settlers.

    It is situated in Lee county Sports Complex in South Fort Myers.
    Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) since Lee County cannot create boating regulations for aquatic vegetation.
    Instead, the Red Sox and Lee County will work together on a new complex that would open in 2012.
