Leninváros has grown in the years of people’s power in connection with the construction of a nitrogen-fertilizer combine (producing fertilizers, dyes, and polymers) and a steam power plant. An oil refinery and an ethylene plant, as well as a steam power plant, were put into operation in the early 1970’s.
