compound lens [′käm‚pau̇nd ′lenz]
(optics)
A combination of two or more lenses in which the second surface of one lens has the same radius as the first surface of the following lens, and the two lenses are cemented together. Also known as cemented lens.
Any optical system consisting of more than one element, even when they are not in contact.
