Leonid Veniaminovich Keldysh

Keldysh, Leonid Veniaminovich 

Born Apr. 7, 1931, in Moscow. Soviet physicist; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1968). Graduated from Moscow State University in 1954 and is now working at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. In 1969 he became a professor at Moscow State University.

Keldysh’s main works have dealt with quantum many-particle theory and with solid-state physics. He is the author of important works on the theory of semiconductor characteristics in strong electric fields.
