In southeastern KY; organized Mar 29, 1878 from Clay, Harlan, and Perry counties. Name Origin: For Preston Hopkins Leslie (1819-1907), KY legislator and governor (1871-75); territorial governor of MT (1887-89), and U.S. district attorney for MT (1894-98)
