Levan Tediashvili

Tediashvili, Levan Kitoevich 

Born Mar. 15, 1948, in the village of Gegmoubani, Sagaredzho Raion, Georgian SSR. Soviet athlete and instructor. Honored Master of Sports (1971).

Tediashvili was the Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling in 1972 and 1976. He was the world and USSR champion in freestyle wrestling in 1971, and again in 1973 and 1974; in 1975 he won the world championship in sambo in 1973. Tediashvili has been awarded the Order of Lenin and the Order of the Badge of Honor.
