Leven

Leven (lē`vən), town (1991 pop. 8,591), Fife, E Scotland, at the mouth of the Leven River on the Firth of Forth. It is a summer resort, famous for its golf links and beaches.
Leven Loch
1. a lake in E central Scotland: one of the shallowest of Scottish lochs, with seven islands, on one of which Mary, Queen of Scots was imprisoned (1567--8). Length: 6 km (3.7 miles). Width: 4 km (2.5 miles)
2. a sea loch in W Scotland, extending for about 14 km (9 miles) east from Loch Linnhe

RAIDERS used a set of ladders to scale the wall of a stately home and make off with an antique table clock worth pounds 200,000 The thieves struck at Levens Hall in Kendal, Cumbria, in the early hours of Saturday.
