Library of Subprograms
a collection of program segments previously compiled for digital computers and intended for use as entire parts in compiling new programs. A library of subprograms on which strict conditions are imposed that unify the method of using them is termed a library or system of standard subprograms. A library of subprograms speeds up and facilitates the programming of problems of set classes. Systems of standard subprograms are used in the automation of programming.
