Lidiia Vladimirovna Miasnikova

Miasnikova, Lidiia Vladimirovna 

Born Sept. 8 (21), 1911, in Tomsk. Soviet Russian mezzo-soprano. People’s Artist of the USSR (1960).

In 1939, Miasnikova graduated from M. I. Brian’s class at the Leningrad Conservatory, where she was a graduate student (aspirant) from 1939 to 1941. In 1944 she became a soloist with the Novosibirsk Theater of Opera and Ballet. Miasnikova has sung the parts of Marfa in Mussorgsky’s Khovanshchina, Liubasha in Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride, Amneris in Verdi’s Aida, Azucena in Verdi’s ll Trovatore, Eboli in Verdi’s Don Carlos, and Aksin’ia in Dzerzhinskii’s The Quiet Don. She also performs as a concert singer. Since 1966, Miasnikova has been an instructor at the Novosibirsk Conservatory. She has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.
