Linderot, Sven Harald 

(pseudonym until 1917, Larsson). Born Oct. 8, 1889, in Skedevi, Östergötland; died Apr. 7, 1956, in Stockholm. Active in the Swedish labor movement.

Linderot was a glassblower by trade. From 1908 to 1917 he was a member of the Social Democratic Party of Sweden, belonging to the party’s left wing. In May 1917 he helped found the Left Social Democratic Party, which in 1921 was renamed the Communist Party of Sweden (CPS). From 1927 to 1929 and again after 1951, Linderot was the secretary of the Central Committee of the CPS, and from 1929 to 1951 he was its chairman. From 1938 to 1949 he was a deputy to the first chamber of the Riksdag and chairman of the parliamentary contingent of the CPS. He wrote on issues of the Swedish and international Communist movement and on Swedish domestic policy.
