Lindner, Richard, 1901–78, American painter, b. Germany. He emigrated to the United States in 1941. He is noted for his strangely erotic, almost sadistic images. Mainly of women and strongly influenced by cubism cubism, art movement, primarily in painting, originating in Paris c.1907.
